Homemade track bar?......

1. Measure length needed
2. Buy length of DOM tube, a bushing and a JJ
3. Cut tube to length, and then notch ends
4. Weld peices together
5. Paint
5. Install

Aren't most track bars solid stock and not tube? That would make it incredibly difficult to bend.

why bend it?

i think for clearance purposes. don't quote me on that though. my guess is the pitman arm.

Nope. All I have seen are tube.

The factory trackbar is soild...

On my first XJ, I used the factory bar, cut off the TRE and welded on solid stock, drilled and tapped it and put ina hiem joint. I did bend the bar with heat and used a drop bracket to get everything to line up (TB paralell with drag link). It was strong and worked well, but if I were to do it over again I'd just buy an aftermarket one...I have more money than time these days.:(

Im working on making my own all new brackets axle mount and frame mount
1.5x.250DOM wall
tube ends
3/4 hole 7/8 shank QA1 rod ends
Mine wont have a bend in it bc I have 10" lift so no chunk clearance is needed

Do yourself a favor and go with a straight track bar and over the axle mount. A straight track bar will be far stronger than a bent one and easier to make.
