aw4 tranny leak

doing a build on a 96 and noticed tranny fluid on the ground. I wiped it clean but still cant find where it's leaking from. Is there a common place the aw4 will leak from? I purchased it from an auto auction after it was claimed as a total loss. Not badly damaged, hit in the right front, front axle was trashed some rt 1/4 damage. It appears that it has been leaking for awhile cause you can see that it has sprayed all over the driver side unirail from the crossmember back so I dont think it is related to the accident. I've had it on jack stands for a month with no axles didnt leak for awhile but when I installed the new belly pan it has began to leak again.

possible the seals are shot.

Front seal can leak.

Overfilled tranny will spew out the top or out the dipstick tube if hot.

NP231 uses ATF - make sure you clean the underside well and try to track the leak that way.

Check the cooler lines. Sometimes the clamps wear through the line.
