97 serpentine belt same as 2000?

Hey, I have a 97 xj 4.0, and my buddy has a trail rig 2000. He is putting in a new (used)alternator, and I still have my old belt.... will it fit his?

it should as long a one isn't a right hand drive model, example: british or mail delivery. and as long as both have the same accessories. try looking up part #'s on napa's web sight to see if both have the same part #! mike

'96 to '00 were the same according to Advance's website. :wave1:
