Tip for cleaning overflow bottle

Just wanted to share a tip for cleaning the overflow bottle. I changed my entire cooling system and to clean out my overflow bottle I poured some cascade dishwasher powder in it, filled it with hot water then shook the hell out of it for a few minutes. Rinsed it out throughly and it was clean as a wistle. Got rid of all the gunky buildup as well as the inch of bars leak caked up on the bottom.

Yep - Tide works as well (I use Tide for automotive cleaning, and Arm & Hammer for clothes...)

You definitely want to use the machine stuff - regular dish soap will foam up and you won't be able to agitate it as well. Stubborn deposits usually respond to straight vinegar if you let it sit for about an hour or so, agitating before and after (and use soap to clear it all out.)
