Another recovery

I got a phone call shortly after getting home from work on Friday about somebody being stuck in an F150 somewhere out on Transmitter Rd here on Eielson AFB turned out to be a cheby 1500 and that they needed a winch. I was getting ready for baseball practice at the time so I figured it would be an easy pull and I would be able to get there and back quickly...couldn't be more wrong. 8000# wasn't enough. Here are some pictures after I called my friend Tom to come help since I couldn't get the job done:

The three above here are what I saw when I pulled up, you can barely make out my winch line in the third photo. So Tom tried with his 9000# and moved him a little but not nearly enough to get him out. He then proceeded to go get his snatch-block from his house in North Pole, AK which was about 30 min away. After he got the block he used me as a weight and pulled the truck out in the following:

His plastic facia or whatever was the only damage from the stuck not to mention the 18000#'s of force his now bent receiver lock had somehow got?

Look at the smile on Tom's face you can see he is happy about this:

I had to include pictures of my sexy XJ just cause, even thought his TJ did all the work.

North Pole, haha, their high school has the highest STD rate per capita in the US

When I was younger I lived on bradley sky ranch, my dad ran the Skydiving operation there

Nice recovery

he probably would have been better off in an f150, chevy's frames hang down so low.

Judging just from the picture, why did anyone call you?? Why not use the crane or the 2ton truck in the background??

what would be the fun in that?

Apparently people with stock vehicles up there dont know to steer clear of the mud holes this week...

A stock Jeep Cherokee with 31 muds could cross that same path that chevy gone through.

actually, it might be able to pull it off if you hammer it with the TSL's on it. I have pulled something like this off before. Not AS big but it was that sloppy.

It doesn't much matter what tires you have when they aren't touching the ground...
