I've got a 98 4.0 with the AW4. Over 100,000 miles.
Lately, on occasion it has been difficult to start/restart at times. I'll crank it the first time, and it'll fire right up and promptly die (at idle). Subsequently, it'll appear that the battery is dead. Sometimes it will not even have the juice to run the accessory lights or turn the engine over. However by holding the key in start for 5 seconds or so, it'll slowly start to turn over and crank. Then, by giving it gas, it'll start and run. I have to slowly come off the gas over the next 30 seconds or so to avoid dying. I'm going to have the battery tested at lunch, but does anyone know what else this could be? It doesn't happen every time, it'll sometimes go for several days without happening.
