Would the steering box out of a 2000 work? There are 2 different engine sizes with different part #'s. Is there a specific year and engine i should be looking for? I am a little lost so any help would be appreciated

are there any markings or something else i can use to make sure its the right one? By the way, which one is the right one? Thanks for the help

It likes to be rebuilt. But from what I understand they are all the same in the Durango.

2000+ Dakota/Durango are rack and pinion. Switched from a SFA to IFS in 2000.

4WD's. I'm thinking Dakotas. I'd swear that in the Dakota's they switched to IFS in 2000 for all models. I could be wrong though as I have a 2000 Dakota and the older models don't really concern me. Since the Dakota and Durangos are brothers I tended to believe their 4WD setups would be identical across the model years.
