Has anyone ever put a chevy LS2 short block into an XJ and if so how was the fit? Will it fit? thanks, tom...

If a regular SBC will fit then an ls2 should fit without any more problems than the SBC. The lS2 is actually a little smaller and a good bit lighter then a traditional SBC.

Iv seen one on Ebay With an ls1 I think. Correct me if I am wrong but I think thats what it was.

it will fit but you will have to really strengthen the unibody. I know a guy with a 383 in his, take lots of pics if you do it.

And just a funny for you a ls1 weighs less than the 4.0 in it now. I was reading a write up on it the other day but don't remember now where it was but the recomended using a pick-up drive train (engine tranny and tranfer). If I remember where I found it or I find it again I'll post the links. It was a very nice detailed artical on the swap.
