Will a 2000 XJ 6cyl auto with np231 front driveshaft be a direct fit to a 1997 XJ 6cyl auto with np231?? thanx for help

assuming the axles are the same (which theres no good reason they shouldnt be) it would be

the 2000 is a lp and the other is HP, dont know if there is enough of a length difference to be a problem.

ah haha i thought the 2k was a HP too? but from the other forum it seems like Ramsey knows more than i do so take his word over mine

Both shafts are the same!
Since I know you're asking about my front driveshaft I'm trying to sell I'll mention this too..
Mine is stock length off of my 2000 XJ with the D30, not sure if it's LP or HP. Whatever the 2000's 4 door Sports had. It was just long enough for 5" lift, but barely. If you're anything less than 5" you should be fine.
There were no other axle or t-case changes I made. Just stock.
