NSS broke, need a bypass

Ok I did a search on the topic. I found out a few things. Since my is a 96 I tried to bypass the switch by grounding the relay. It sparked a little when I did this. When I tried to start it still nothing. I need to drive this until my new switch comes in thanks.

What happens when you put it in neutral and try starting it?
