stock front axle to frame distance

buget lift...I got a rear d44 off a xj in a bone yard (the end to a 6 mo. search)plus the coils and leaf packs for 250.00. this vehical was lifted but I don't know the exact height. I installed the coils today on my '88 and spaced out taking a measurement from the axle to frame rail prior to removing the old coils. Does any one happen to know this distance? with the new coils Im sitting 9.25". I seem to remember @6.75" from some far away tech site. any one?
