86 MJ will not shut off

My MJ does not want to shut off? I can turn the key off and it stays running. It is trying to shut off but it just stumbles. It is not diesling. The injector is still ticking as well. Oh, BTW this is a 2.5 FI motor. If I floor the gas it will stumble and die. I do not like popping the clutch to kill it. What's the deal with her?

parhaps the ignition switch isn't killing all the power?
I' start there, it's the only thing that could feed the ECU and the coil power.

Thanks for the suggestion. I figured it out today. I just put a radio in it Saturday when this started. Turns out the orange and red wires that were tapped into by the previous owner had something to do with the ignition switch. I turned the key off and she kept running like usual, then I pulled the plug off the back of the radio, BINGO it shut off. I rewired the power and memory wires and now all is good. I spent 3 days trying to figure this out, lol.
