acceleration Problems

Alright I changed my transmission fluid and filter, but I have some problems now, My 96 XJ Country has a hard time accelerating, it will only switch gears when I let off the transmission, and has a hard time getting into overdrive, and It wont go over 3000 revs....plus today, when I tried to go back into cruise controll at 55mph the engine reved up to 3000 rpm and the speed dropped,

So what did you put in when you changed it? You should have used Dexron/Mercon III, and the AW-4 can be selectively picky sometimes when you use synthetic in it so that's often a no-go right there. Did you over/underfill it?

have you checked your speed sensor that tells your computer when to shift etc etc. good luck hopefully your problem gets solved cheaply and not expensivley
