I was crawling under a Jeep[96 4wd Sport] at work today and noticed it had a different[shorter] output housing? than my 93 did. And the Yoke was longer and had a boot over it. The 96 was all stock. I was just wondering if the t/c had any work done to it? SYE? My output shaft housing deal is the 2 peice and its about 4-5inches longer than this one.
Pics of 96. Taken with a Cell phone camera but still pretty good quality.

Looks pretty normal to me. This is the whole reason the 96+ XJ is more prone to vibration when lifted; there is a considerable length of output shaft that isn't supported although at least we have a seal to hold the ATF in if we have to drop the driveshaft. This is why SYEs are such a good idea...
