God I love this post.

My transfer (242) was stuck in 4wd. I have been trying to get it out for two days now. I did a search on 242. Found that I need to be rolling when i shift. Went outside and tried it. The jeep is now back in Two wheel drive.

Don't forget to keep the tires inflated the same too. It helps if they are the same make as well since they will nominally have the same diameter that way.
