Carrier change d35

I have a 95 with the d35 and a powertrax locker in the rear. The axle originally came with the limited slip. I would like to purchase 4:56 gears. Do I need a carrier change? Will the powertrax work with the gears?

it depends on what ratio you have currently. automatic tranny? then you have 3.55's. the carrier break for M35 axles is 3.55 and numerically higher so your fine. just regear it.

Yeah, auto, 3:55 stock ratio. Will this weaken the overall strength of the axle? I am running 32's, stock motor, and moderate wheeling.
