Found a 60/44 combo with 4.11s or a 14 bolt/10bolt with 3.73s and want to run 5.13s. Hoping I dont have to switch carriers.

anyone know what carriers can run what ratios?

if it matters the dana's are out of a ~'84 dodge 3/4ton. the corp axles are out of a ~'78 chevy 3/4ton

with those big of axles and that gearing, what tires are you planning on running? 4.11's will be kinda gutless with 33's or larger. or are you just trying to save a few $$$.

The D44 carrier break is 3.92/#up
The Dana 60 is 4.56/#up
The 10 bolt is 2.73/#up
The 14 bolt 9.5" has no break
the 14 bolt 10.5" is 4.56/#up

just wanted to make sure after searching that his info is correct on the 14 bolt semifloater on the carrier break. trying to decide between a lunch box locker or a full locker.

found the awnser on pbb and a google search. there is no carrier break on the 9.5 inch ring gear. and btw it is pricey to put any type of locking device in this axle. it is almost as cheap to put a limites slip as a lock and for a about a hundred more you can get a ected diff like in the h2

You can find axles in the junk yard with detroit's in them. Also a detroit is assembled in the stock carrier in a 14 bolt at least the 10.5 carrier never messed with the 9.5.

5.13 is as high as you can go with a 14 bolt but you can find 14 bolt 10.5 carriers with 4.56 in the juck yard (1 ton 6cyl tucks usually crew cabs and of course CUCCV)
