How could this happen, need some help!!!

Hi Guys;
went wheeling with a friend of fine, everything was going fine unitil i saw that the Temp needle was over the red, freaked out and turned on the fan switch( i have a override switch). Found that my tach was not working at all, i mean, the gas, temp, rpm did not move at all, opened up the hood to see it was not hot at all, thanked god(as i have just replaced the head gasket) and drove home, everything is fine except my gauges dont work and my fog light does not come on, could there be a short somewhere or i need another gauge cluster. any info will be appreciated.

Fuse?

Nothing worked? Instrument panel ground. I vaguely recall someone writing this up awhile back. Try a search on terms like "Instrument" "ground" etc.

If I could remember who posted and when I'd give you a link, but I don't.
