Doesn't-want-to-idle issue.... Potential cause(s) ??

I did have, I'm quite certain it was, codes about 2 months back indicating an issue with the TPS so, although no such codes have come up for weeks, I'm kinda assuming that it could be the TPS causing the issue...?? { '99 XJ }

Sometimes, but not always, the rig doesn't want to start...without inducement via gas-pedal to start at an elevated fuel-input level. Today, it also stalled once underway, which has not happened before.

IS it likely the TPS, or are there other components that might just as well be the cause, given the nature of the problem?

could be several things. Dumb question, have you checked first for vacuum leaks?

IAC, aka idle air control valve. Tps can cause issues as well.
