I was at the junkard today and found an xj with a hydroboost conversion and im curious if its worth doing the swap or if anyone had any ideas on how difficult it is

It's not incredibly difficult, but it would have been really easy if you grabbed the one from the JY.

i made the mistake of leaving without really looking at it but i would assume mounting it would be simple since its already in a xj its all the other stuff that i didnt bother looking at and the reservoir is broken so im not sure what its off of

Thats the bendix 9 system. It uses an electric pump to supply the pressure instead of the power steering. I believe all of those had abs as well.

Yes,that is the old POS ABS setup. Do not bother. They have lifetime warranty for a reason.
