what is it and do i need one? I Was talking to summers brothers, today about ordering some axle shafts and they tried to sell me some either m300 or 300m axles, what are these? do i need them?

300M is the steel alloy of the axle.
Whether or not you would need/want/desire something like that would depend on your XJ, how you use it, and your driving.
