timing set from a 98 into an 89?

Just like the title says will a timing set from a 98 xj work in my 89 xj?
Went to the parts store today to pick up my cloyes timing set that I ordered for my 89 and noticed they ordered a timing set for a 98(dyslexia I guess)they didn't have a set for an 89 so I took this one because I'm in a rush to get this job done
go or no go??
I assumed valve timing is the same on those years....did jeep ever change valve timing in the 4.0s???

A quick rockauto part number search shows that they are different part numbers. What's different? I don't know...

It will work fine. The 98 set just uses a silent link style chain, which is better than the single bicycle style of chain they list for your 89.
