U-Joints?

Here's the information i'm currently looking at.

The only thing i don't know is when it says the U-joint for the front axle is the 5-297x does that mean just the ones for the front axle shafts, or does that mean the one on the driveshaft?

Also, even though it says these, can you upgrade a U-joint without changing the yoke or anything like that?

Front Axles -

Dana 30 high pinion - reverse cut - 27 spline, 1.16" diameter shafts, 7.13" ring gear - used 84-99 (some axles through 91 are vacuum disconnect, 92+ are non-disconnect, 89-95 with ABS have 5-297x u-joints, all 95+ have 5-297x u-joints, all others have 5-260x u-joints except 84 thru 86 they were CV type rather than open u-joints)

Dana 30 low pinion - standard cut - 27 spline, 1.16" diameter shafts, 7.13" ring gear, 5-297x u-joints - used 00-01

D35s and C8.25s have the same U-joint, and it's the 1310.

All u-joint style drive shafts use 1310 type (5-153x) u-joints.

D30 axles use either 5-260x or 5-297x (which has been replaced by 5-760x).

1989-95 with ABS have 5-297x u-joints. All 1995+ have 5-297x u-joints. All others have 5-260x u-joints.

Thank you. Let me attempt to clarify this even further so i can grasp this.

Both the front and rear drive-shafts use the same U-joint? That being the 1310 type (5-153x). That's regardless of the rear axle type, correct?

Then all the front D30 axle shafts use the 5-260x or the 5-297x U-Joints? So either of those will work? Is one better than the other? You're also saying that the 5-297x has been replaced by the 5-760x (the 297 doesn't exist any more, correct?)

****EDIT***** Nevermind any of that. I realized that with the information in my original post i can tell which goes where. I just needed to know that the front and rear driveshafts both use the 1310 type. Thanks!

5-260x and 5-290x/760x u-joints have different physical dimensions, i.e. you can't swap one for the other.
