Quick question on Ford 8.8 swap

Ok so I have a 1998 XJ Auto NP242 TC w/ a Dana 35 rear. Found a 1998 explorer 8.8 w/ disc brakes, ebrake cables, 3:55 open diff 31 spline axles, and the driveshaft for 200 bones. The only issue is I dropped way too much on chasing engine problems and I'm trying to figure out if the gearing is going to be the same for my front end. According to http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/cherokee-stock-specs-26256/ (sorry to link another site) it should be legit. Just cut the perches, reweld and some minor changes. Basically dont have the money to regear and want to double check with you experts. Thanks

Probably the best bet. Who knows what the previous idio... owner did to it.

look on the door jam of the exploder for the axle code
3.55 is pretty common for them if they are 4dr and V6

Its a 3.55 on the explorer wasnt sure about my stock dana 30 up front. Its still a new to me jeep so I'll just crack it open and count the gears. Probably could use a fluid change anyway.
