Swapped and 88 44 into my 98. Swap was smooth turdy5 out And all done in less than 1 hour. Problem! Ebrake cables are on the wrong drum. Keeping drums for now swapping cables this weekend.
Are they long enough? Seems like try will be short even with the swap. Sorry noob question. I did search 1st.

I put a 89 D44 into my 92, and I didn't run into any problems with the ebrake cables... Actually I think they were a bit too long, just took some of the slack out by tightening where the two cables meet under the jeep.

The late model XJs use a different set up than the earlier ones. The cables are routed different and are a different length. The left side uses a short cable and the right side uses a longer cable.
