SYE swap

order the one from IRO you can get it with or without a driveshaft ( save some money and just pull.a front driveshaft from an xj, its the same thing.) And your set. just need a drill and something to cut the old yoke with.

i already have a rugged ridge sye kit, im pulling the front DS out of another cherokee tomorrow, i just dont wanna get in the middle of the install and screw it up

Just flow the directions, they're really good. And YouTube has lots of vids. My only thing I messed up was that you have to hook the oil pickup to the pump before sealing the two haves back together, you' ll see what I mean when going through the directions, and do it in the rig, way easier than fighting to get the tcase out

Yes the you tube vid's are great, for both SYE and SYE hack'N tap

What transfer case do you have 231, or 242
Did you buy the hack n tap style SYE kit
You only have to cut the output shaft on the Hack n tap style kits.

i have the 231......not a hack n tap kit.......since im cracking open the transcase, i need new fluid, rtv sealant, and a good cleaning?
Correct.
also, every install ive see has had the tranny out of the jeep.......can i do it still attached to the jeep?

For full sye you need to remove it. HnT cam be done in the jeep.

Don't bother with the built in search engine. Use google to search a specific site like so.

If you want to search for Header installation on naxja.org you type "Header installation site:naxja.org" Without the quotes in the google search bar. Or if you want shackle relocation on just naxja "Shackle relocation site:naxja.org" Or if you want to search shackle relocation on cherokeeforum.com "shackle relocation site:http://www.cherokeeforum.com"

You can even search specific areas of a web site like NAXJA's Modified tech discussion which has a web address of http://www.naxja.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=43 so you would put that behind "site:"

It was easier for me to install the full sye ON THE JEEP, as long as youve got some lift, you can sit under the vehicle and do this rather easily. I did however have a spare transfer case to practice the install on, on the bench.

Either way, you dont NEED TO remove the t/c.
