Oil sending unit plug???

Wanted to see if the part where the oil pressure sending unit threads into can be switched out? Say if the sending unit where cross threaded... I was thinking that with original 4.0L that the sending unit was parallel to the ground and came out of that octagonal block perfectly perpendicular. With my stroker I installed as many sensors as I could before putting the motor back in, to prevent cross threading and leaning over fenders etc., I may have gotten a little carried away with the teflon tape and I feel like the sending unit isn't sitting quite right.. I feel like its not causing the unit to read correctly, but its not leaking and is at least giving me a reading.

The "elbow" can be replaced.
