Is it possible to use the rear hatch glass from a 97+ in a 96 and older?

I've read that they have two different style ways of being held in... one being held in by a gasket (96older) and the 97+ being glued similar to the windshield.

Can I still use the glass if I remove the gasket from the newer glass?

They are different. Sorry to disappoint. pre96 glass should be easy to find.

This look like the right glass for a 93?

The guy lives about 45 mins away so I want to make sure it's the right glass before I make the drive.

Want's $100 for the glass, 2" coil spacers, front driver side seat belt for 97+ and rear passenger seat belt.

Cost of glass at JY is $40 and tint shop quoted me $50 for tint even w/it removed.

Long as he says it came from a Jeep Cherokee (XJ, not SJ... but that looks like an XJ one to me) it should fit if it came from an 84-96 model, which it appears to, as it has the rubber gasket and is about the right shape.
