Heater Q

just moved to an area where I actually need my heater and noticed something odd, when I turn the heater on I can hear the ac compressor kick on. Is something out of wack here? I noticed the same thing on my suburban. I've never seen this before.

Heat, or defrost? The compressor cycles when the climate controls are set to defrost, or bilevel (heat and defrost). Dries the air, keeps from fogging up the glass/clears it faster when it is fogged.

your ac compressor will turn on in the defrost position, heat and vent it should not IIRC.

This makes sense. Thanks
