In the upper left of the instrument panel there is "low washer", "no key", and "Cruise".

What is the "no key" logo for? I've never seen it light up on my 99 other then when doing the dancing gauge cluster test.

IIRC it has something to do with the security chip in the key... not being detected....

you are correct, the only time that light is illuminated is in the bulb check when the key is first turned on, it will stay on if there is a problem in the SKIM system.

SKIM is sentry key immobilizer aka the chip in the key.

Just to add to this: if the key housing is grey, it's a SKIM key. If it's black, it's non-SKIM.
