I have searched and read eveyone elses problems regarding this but haven't had any luck. One day started up the jeep and no gauges. Its a 96 4.0 with a 5 speed. I pulled and checked all of the fuses under the driver side dash and they were all good. Thanks!

More of a problem with 97+, but pull the instrument cluster and clean the connector and apply some dielectric grease, give the harness a couple of tugs to relieve the strain on it and post up results.

Good luck.

if cleaning the contacts behind the instrument panel doesn't help, you may be looking at a bad contact on the ignition switch. IIRC, dash power is controlled by the key and runs through the ignition switch at the base of the steering column.
