np 231 question

how much horsepower would a 231 tranfercase be able to handle?
my setup isnt for crawling im over on the jeepspeed side of things
as for right now im running a d30 up front and a 8.25 in the back, what im looking to do is swap a small block chevy with a turbo 400 and the 231 on the back of that. now of course i want to go fast lol but would also need to know hopw much horsepower they can handle before breaking

OEM np231s are rated 1600-1900 ft/lbs of torque.
