Wow! Just coincidence that the map starts BLEEDING last November? It's all about confidence, and last Nov. 4th, it was decimated. I was laid off from a job that should have lasted through his coming Christmas all because of perception. This isn't all new. Our economy has been around in this form since probably the dawn of the Industrial Age. Yes, there are cycles, but by and large, all the government needs to do is stand back and let those who can do a job just do it. They can't do any better, and they've been proving it since the early 1930s. I'm afraid it's gonna suck until DC is turned back the right way.

I lost my job as of New years day 2009... Now I feel even more like I'm just a number. 
That was a great map though, thanks for posting it. I agree with Heyhar, DC needs to get the hell out of the economy. They need to stop trying to manipulate the economy.. it will only lead to a prolonged recession where weak companies are allowed to survive far longer than they should. If a company loses it's customer base because they stopped innovating, or because of piss poor customer service... well they deserved it. There will be someone else coming along to fill in the void they leave. Hell, there won't be a void.. If they were the only company supplying some product chances are they wouldn't go under until someone else comes along and does it better than they do..

Want to stop the jobs being lost, tie the job loss into the congress and senate pay, 10% job loss, 10% pay cut.

speaking of congress coughing up pay...
anyone see how much money they want to spend immortalizing Ted Kennedy? Yeah...all the stuff they want to build/name in his honor, that money is coming from a portion of the military's budget....
I say they either take donations for this, or they (congress) fork up their own money to do this crap...I can't believe my tax dollars are going to be used to honor that piece of shit.

the map is interesting, it is funny that my home town is not on there. I am from the foothills in NC and the unemployment rate there was something like 14-15% a month or two ago. Parents were talking about it.

Poor Ted, while I did not like the guy or his politics he's spent quite a few years trying to live that down which may be why he did some of the stupid things and backed some pretty socialist programs that he did.
