Axle made a loud "crunch" and shortly after I heard a noise whenever I unloaded the drive train such as coasting to a stop. As long as I had my foot on the gas I had heard nothing.
This sounded like a pinion bearing to me but as I started to take the axle apart I found 3 bolts snapped off. I only found one bolt head in the bottom of the carrier. I also found a small chunk missing from the carrier plate, but again, no parts in the bottom of the diff. The fluid was in good shape, smelled OK (as good as gear oil gets...it's not cologne)

Should I try to fix it, or is this carrier done?
I can't spend much money on this right now (otherwise I would build an 8.8)
I’m a little new at axles but not afraid to learn

Thanks for any advice on direction.
