stripped diff bolt

I was working on the 44 last night and i stripped one of the diff bolts.:repair: How do i go about fixing this little problem?

TAP?
HELICOIL?

is there anything i should look out for while i am doing this?
any tricks, tips, or ideas are greatly welcome

diff cover bolt? bearing cap bolt? breather tube bolt? ARB line bolt? pinion nut?

helicoil would be fine in my book... loosing one cover bolt isnt all that bad.. just use a little extra RTV...

yeah, heli coil or just tap it for a larger bolt and just remember that you need a different bolt for that one. Hell, don't even put it back in.....I don't reccommend it, but I've done it without problems.

Drill and tap for 3/8", then install a stud. I've found that having a stud in an upper hole helps to keep the cover under control when I'm changing fluid...
