Not a new invention by any means, but the 1st one I've seen using chains instead of torsion bars. Torsion bar WD hitches are quite a bit less, but also weigh more.

I've never heard of a noisy WD hitch...

Does anti-sway as well so add a traditional AS unit to the pricing comparison.

With a 5000 lb tow limit on a XJ/MJ this starts to make sense (lightweight, not bulky).

Not sure if it would be worth the effort on a full size where size/weight doesn't matter.

No, but I raced for years and I can tell you from experence that a flat-top car trailler bouncing though a pit is louder than any hitch will ever be

No doubt. I grease my bars and ball every time I hitch up, but a lot of people don't. Many a noisy Friday night and Sunday afternoon at the CG.
