Is your Cherokee's unibody broken and now the steering box is about to fall off? This frame plate was designed to help do a proper repair on your XJ.

Laser-cut chassis plates are supplied for the inner and outer chassis rail, along with special sleeves that tie both plates together and provide additional support for the steering gear. The chassis plates and sleeves must be welded to the vehicle's chassis, as a bolt-on design could not possibly provide the same level of integrity and fitment. Therefore, the installation does require welding.

Rusty’s XJ Steering Box Brace is a must after this repair if the vehicle doesn't already have one.

Rusty's Flares - Rusty's XJ Standard Flares - SALE!

Flares are $90 each, $179 for a set of two (front or rear) or for a limited time all four for $299! Normally $350 .

Finally - a Cherokee flare that gives you the extra 1.25" coverage needed for those oversized tires as well as larger openings! Unlike other aftermarket flares, Rusty's flares give you the abililty to trim from 2.5"-4" of sheet metal to clear larger tires! If you're simply going for style you can install our flares without trimming the fenders but you may see a bit of the fender under the front portion of the flare.

We have two versions now available: Standard and Flex. The Standard Cut-Out Flares are constructed of urethane plastic and finished in a glossy black finish that can be painted to match the rig's color. The Flex Cut-Out Flares are a more flexible urethane that will bend much more than the standard versions. The Flex Flares have a glossy black finish but are NOT paintable. Either style will work on '84-'01 2-door and 4-door Cherokees. A 12" wide tire on a wheel with 4.5" backspacing will be completely covered with these flares.

The Standard Cut-Out Flares do give a little but they are not as pliable as factory flares. They will take a good deal of abuse but if slammed against a rock, they may break. The Flexible Cut-Out Flares are extremely flexible and can withstand heavy abuse.

This part number is for our Standard Flares. Part number RA-FLR2-XJ is for our Flex Flares.

The new Rusty's Off Road long travel suspension is going to be tough to beat! It takes you places other vehicles can't go; over logs, big boulders or over just about anything else on the trail. We have applied race technology and over 4 years of research and development to deliver a suspension system with enough articulation to keep your rig firmly planted even over the most radical terrain.

The system starts with new radius-style control arms that are completely adjustable, both the long lower arm as well as the upper link. The arms utilize factory rubber control arm bushings to ensure that no noise or vibrations are transmitted through the unibody. The arms are constructed of 2" diameter D.O.M. tubing, so go ahead and bash them against rocks and ledges because they can take the abuse and keep right on going!

The new control arms bolt to a new 3/16" thick steel, laser cut crossmember that is surrounded by Rusty's frame reinforcement brackets. The 3/16" laser cut reinforcement brackets are located both on the outside and the inside of the unibody and basically sandwich it, tying the unibody and the new crossmember together as one solid unit. This design distributes the extreme loads from the suspension over a much larger area of the unibody and assures many years of extreme four-wheeling without any structural damage to the unibody.

The stock tie rod will never hold up to any kind of trail riding! The factory tie rod is built of thin .060-wall mild steel tubing; it doesn't even take a big rock or large tires to bend that!

Rusty's HD Tie Rod is constructed of 1.50"x0.250-wall DOM tubing; this is almost 5 times thicker than the factory tie rod! The HD Tie Rod comes complete with tie rod ends and even the cotter pins. So go out there and hit the rocks...you will most likely break or bend something else before you hurt this tie rod, well except for maybe scratching the powder coating!

Our new XJ trail bumper was the direct result of requests from our customers to design a strong plate steel bumper that maximized ground clearance, didn't hurt approach angle, and kept the winch tucked up tight without obstructing the grille. You asked, and we delivered!

The new XJ Trail Bumper is constructed of 3/16" and 1/4" thick laser-cut steel that has been CNC formed for a precise fit. It incorporates a winch mount that tucks the winch inboard and under the grille. Most other designs position the winch in front of the grille, which obstructs airflow to the radiator and also causes the bumper to be pushed out far in front of the grille, which hurts approach angle. The bumper also offers complete frontend protection and tapers towards the ends in order to maximize clearance in front of the tires. Further, it incorporates lightening holes on the lower edges, which look cool and helps reduce overall weight. Last but not least, two D-ring mounts are incorporated into the bumper for sturdy recovery points. Designed to accept the WARN M8000 winch.

The winch mount is well reinforced and is rated to handle winches up to 10,000 lbs. It can accommodate most popular brand winches, however it's impossible to test-fit every winch on the market and some may require slight modifications to fit. Rear quarter panels are magnets for rocks and trees; no matter how careful you try to be, it seems like there is always something threatening to dent the rear corners of your Cherokee on the trail. Rusty's Rear Lower Quarter Panel Guards offer affordable protection that will help keep those rear corners straight. Constructed of 1/8" thick steel and then powder coated black, Rusty's Lower Quarter Guards attach with stainless steel riv-nuts. Using riv-nuts distributes the force of impacts over a larger area and is stronger than regular rivets, allowing a smaller guard to work effectively. These rear quarter skids will help prevent the low-hanging body panels just behind the rear tire from damage when rolling over larger rocks. The Guards also wrap under the body, making a slider for rocks.

Rusty's Adjustable Sway Bar Disconnects fit JK, TJ, and YJ Wranglers, LJ Unlimiteds, XJ Cherokees, WJ and ZJ Grand Cherokees, and even CJs! The factory transfer case skid plate, if it's even present, really doesn't do much to protect the transfer case. If you do even mild off-roading, you should seriously consider upgrading to Rusty's Transfer Case Skid Plate. Our latest design is truly Trail Tested Tough! The Rusty's XJ skid plate is constructed of 1/4" thick laser-cut steel that has been pickled and oiled for even more strength. The skid plate mounts to both the t-case crossmember and the unibody for solid protection. You can run this skid plate with our 1" drop transfer case crossmember, which will allow you to drop the transfer case without losing ANY clearance. A black powder coated finish provides lasting durability and good looks. It comes with all the necessary hardware and complete installation instructions.

We have different versions of our Transfer Case Skid Plate for the 231 and 242 transfer cases. The 231 version is shown here; the 242 / 247 / 249 version, RA-JS16-XJ, has an additional bend to match the crossmember and lower drop of the 242 transfer case.

New from Rusty's! We have always been an XJ Cherokee specialist, and we're constantly coming up with new ideas and refining designs. Our new XJ trail bumper was the direct result of requests from our customers to design a strong plate steel bumper that maximized ground clearance, didn't hurt approach angle, and kept the winch tucked up tight without obstructing the grille. You asked, and we delivered!

The new XJ Trail Bumper is constructed of 3/16" and 1/4" thick laser-cut steel that has been CNC formed for a precise fit. It incorporates a winch mount that tucks the winch inboard and under the grille. Most other designs position the winch in front of the grille, which obstructs airflow to the radiator and also causes the bumper to be pushed out far in front of the grille, which hurts approach angle. Finally - a Cherokee flare that gives you the extra 1.25" coverage needed for those oversized tires as well as larger openings! Unlike other aftermarket flares, Rusty's flares give you the abililty to trim from 2.5"-4" of sheet metal to clear larger tires! If you're simply going for style you can install our flares without trimming the fenders but you may see a bit of the fender under the front portion of the flare.

We have two versions now available: Standard and Flex. The Standard Cut-Out Flares are constructed of urethane plastic and finished in a glossy black finish that can be painted to match the rig's color. The Flex Cut-Out Flares are a more flexible urethane that will bend much more than the standard versions. The Flex Flares have a glossy black finish but are NOT paintable. Either style will work on '84-'01 2-door and 4-door Cherokees. A 12" wide tire on a wheel with 4.5" backspacing will be completely covered with these flares.

The Standard Cut-Out Flares do give a little but they are not as pliable as factory flares. They will take a good deal of abuse but if slammed against a rock, they may break. The Flexible Cut-Out Flares are extremely flexible and can withstand heavy abuse.

The Rusty's 8" long-travel suspension is a complete package; we didn't cut any corners. Rusty's high quality 8.5 coils springs are used in the front, while complete 6.5 leaf spring packs, grade 8 U-bolts, and heavy duty 3/8" thick extended shackles are used in the rear. NO LIFT BLOCKS! Rusty's heavy-duty track bar, frame mount, and frame brace keeps the body centered and adds significant strength to the unibody. The system starts with new radius-style control arms that are completely adjustable, both the long lower arm as well as the upper link. The arms utilize factory rubber control arm bushings to ensure that no noise or vibrations are transmitted through the unibody. The arms are constructed of 2" diameter D.O.M. tubing, so go ahead and bash them against rocks and ledges because they can take the abuse and keep right on going!

The new control arms bolt to a new 3/16" thick steel, laser cut crossmember that is surrounded by Rusty's frame reinforcement brackets. The 3/16" laser cut reinforcement brackets are located both on the outside and the inside of the unibody and basically sandwich it, tying the unibody and the new crossmember together as one solid unit. This design distributes the extreme loads from the suspension over a much larger area of the unibody and assures many years of extreme four-wheeling without any structural damage to the unibody. The crossmember's design does not reduce ground clearance and also drops the transfer case relieve driveline angles. Our optional Transfer Case Skid Plate can be easily added for further protection and support.

Due to the thinness of the Jeep unibody, we've designed our long-arm kits to be completely bolt-on with the exception os the rear spring perches, which must be welded to the axle on the MJ. Although it is possible to weld to the unibody, the longevity of the weld in questionable. The unibody is only 16 guage (.060 in.) and the heat of a weld stresses the thin metal. Even though the weld itself may not crack, the unibody around it may. While the unibody is welded from the factory, this was done with precision robotically-controlled welders with heat sensors to create welds that were much more precise than even the most skilled human welder. Our bolt-on systems are not only more durable than a weld-on system due to the extensive reinforcement involved, but they are also much easier to install. Our clamped/sleeved mounting system uses 1" x3/16" thick tubes through the unibody, which creates a larger surface area that distributes stresses over a larger area than a weld-on installation. In addition, we use adjustable control arms that not only allow easy caster adjustment but also incorporate pivot points designed for suspension flex, which further eliminates stress on the
