RHD Postal Jeep Cherokee

Unfortunately, not too many factory RHD Cherokees were ever made. The demand for them is still relatively high however. My wife is a rural mail carrier and she would love a RHD Jeep. Yes they are quite expensive but when compared to any of the other Factory RHDs that have been made for the U.S. market the Cherokees stand alone. They have the most cargo volume without being to big, 4WD, high production numbers compared to other models, and as we all know, legendary reliability and longevity.
When you think about what other cars were available in RHD (Subaru, Saturn, TJs and JKs) the price versus utility is still better then the rest. I mean a RHD TJ will run 10-15k, a new JK costs 25-30k. I got a smoking deal on my wifes Saturn 99 SW1, comparable sales were about 3500-4500, I paid 1800. That was only after 4 months of searching CL and Ebay for a vehicle less than two states away. I know the RHD prices seem rather high but that is what the rural carriers are paying.

Couldnt be farther than the truth, weve got at least 50 97+ still running, all were fairly well equipped!

To be more specific,RHD Cherokees!

What is the name of your business? Do you have a web site? What is the range of prices for the RHDs? If your prices are good, I may be interested in buying one soon for my wife. She is glad yo have her RHD Saturn, but would really rather have a Cherokee. What are your shipping rates? Finally, are your RHDs domestic or import Jeeps?:sunshine:

While they do go up for sale, most are still in service. All were ordered locally for our Water Dept.

Water meter readers in RHD XJs? Are the streets of Phoenix really paved in gold, or have you had too many Liberal Socialist Democrats running the city?

Our meter readers ride on scooters, year round.

I probably shouldn't bite, but what does politics have to do with the choice of right hand drive for meter readers? Wouldn't the "liberal socialist democrats" be the ones requiring veggie oil scooters, or Priuses?

But assuming they are going to be using cars at all, one that is entered and exited from the right seems a pretty good idea, without a whole lot of knee-jerk political claptrap required.

I am always surprised at what government can waste money on. As you said, having to enter and exit the vehicle multiple times a day makes it easier and safer on the right. Of course, Phoenix could have bought scooters for their meter readers like our city has done, easy to hop on and off, extremely low operating cost, and extremely low maintenance costs. However, that apparently wouldn't be considered a wise use of the peoples' money.

From the comments I have read in the news about Sheriff Arpio made by the elected officials in the Phoenix, and the stupidity of spending nearly a million dollars on RHD vehicles for meter readers when fifty thousand would have bought scooters, I a**umed that the leadership of your fair city would be members of the Democratic party--Liberal and Socialist.

Any idea what it was used for? Most of the RHD Jeeps I see are for used by rural mail carriers, but they generally seem to prefer automatics so they can drive with hands full of mail.
