Luckily the refinery I work for is staying open for now. But this is effecting thousands of people in the northeast as we speak. Local pizza mom and pop shops will be closing doors, schools will be impacted. sales guys, auto repair shops etc.

Somehow, I think that hearing from a guy in CA about how PA should run its affairs won't really matter...also, the logic used behind the statistics is a little unclear, is there a source that actually explains what they are trying to do and why?

Also, as a side note, while still foreign, most of our oil comes from Mexico and Canada. Or at least more than what we get from the middle east.

I believe what they are trying to do is install a "tariff" or "tax" on foreign refined oil. Which will make American refineries more competitive. I don't believe that PA has any say in the matter. I am pretty sure all taxes on goods coming in to our country are determined by the federal government.
