I have a 1998 XJ sport. AW4 - NP 231 chryco 8.25 rear D-35 high pinion front axle.
My #3 piston decided it didn't need some of its skirt. Long story short I'm trying to buy a used one.
I noticed mine had a D shaped recess in the top. Inside that D shape the area is flat.
On top of the used Pistons I found on eBay, the flat D shaped area has a raised circle in the casting. My concern is maybe my valves will strike that raised circle.
Does anyone know for sure if these 2 types of pistons are interchangable?
