Hey everyone, the famous Little Sluice on the Rubicon trail is set to be majorly altered this Friday. They are planning of flying in tons and tons of fill rock and cracking up to 13 boulders in this small 100' section of the Rubicon trail.

We are trying to stop this from happening and can use all the help we can get.

Here is part one of the plan.....

Email El Dorado County and ask them to halt all alterations of the world famous little sluice.

Send El Dorado County Supervisor Jack Sweeney and his fellow Supervisors an email and CC it to the other contacts below. It is important that this be made known to as many people as possible, they need to be pressured into stopping this!

I think the politics are sound !!!
We cannot leave the Little Sluice in its present condition and avoid closure of the Rubicon Trail! Let them bring in rocks, and then we keep the trail open.

yea but the splitting of rocks.. is that necessary? The reason behind that is because its an "attractive nuisance". Now you cant tell me that is politically sound? How did OUR lawyer miss that?

Anyway, they are dropping the rock tomorrow but are filling at a later date.. We will see what happens between then and now. Hopefully we can keep LS open since we have a dedicated BYPASS.

OK, so they add some rock.... Let them add rocks 8 feet deep along the entire trail. All we do then is a little re-stacking... Keep the trail open, add rock, let it blow over. This can turn out OK. In the Spring we add some boulders the size of a new H1 Hummer !! Pick your battles, 'cause you can't fight them all... ;)
