Dan, that's brilliant and thanks for posting those pics. I checked my XJ and I have that bracket but there's a switch there already so I'll need to figure out what that's for. Edit, looks like it's the CC vacuum switch. I'll take brake lights over CC.

Almost done. A mechanic friend re-flared the lines for me. I kept the original brake switch and it was working, but now that the air has been bled out and I have a pedal again, the lights stay one. So tomorrow night I'll file the rod down some more, button it back up and hopefully test drive. Thanks all for your help.
