Flushing/Cleaning cooling system tips needed

Old Thread....A master mechanic friend of mine that works on our school's buses told me to put a small bottle of Dawn DWD in to clean it out....I tried that on my son's XJ, seemed to do a good job but lots of foam. Then I tried Cascade...worked like a champ, the insides looked like it was sandblasted,no more cooling problems. I'm convinced 90% of the gunk you see in a cooling system is the result of someone using stop leak instead of fixing a leak properly. Put the Cascade in, take then fill it with water and (if its not below freezing) run the vehicle a day or two , then drain it , flush it again and refill it.
