I've been really gunning for a promotion at work lately and I have a good feeling I may just get offered a Shop Foreman position soon.
I was wondering if there are any current shop foremen or service managers here that can give me advice on my first management position?
What can I expect?
What could I expect/encounter that I may not realize?
Other advice/pointers/things to think about/etc...?
If it matters, the position I think I'm going to get offered means I have to relocate to a new shop that was just recently taken over by a new service manager. The wife and I are currently renting and are month to month so no worries there. We have a baby on the way so we're both nesting and will most likely buy a house in the area if I get the job.
