I am checking to see what I have. It looks as though the 98 up has blue speed sensors…… others don’t know what years have black sensors. Can anyone enlighten me.
I have 1996 4.0 aw4 2wd xj that we converted to 4wd. The 98 231 has a different speedo plug than the 2wd one that plugged in the trans. Help needed to identify wires on the old plug that correspond to the pins on the 231. Plus one 2 pin plug that has no home with the 4wd setup. It appears I...
Not to worry folks. Those are the codes you get when the timing is out 180degrees. Now I know this. Cranks, runs well, resonator sounds great. Sorry to bother all of y’all.
Thanks, still no start but turns over with key 50 psi at fuel rail tried twice to hit but still no start will check injector signal and spark tomorrow thank you for your reply. Any other ideas?
Complete ground up rebuild. Swapped in aw4 from ax15. No neutral safety switch no hook up, was manual trans before. Have all put back together. No crank. Checked starter relay no trigger no supply. Ignition switch operating as it should. All new good grounds and wires. 1991 4.0 xj fuel pump all...
Info found. It is a quick disconnect and valve that in the r12 days allowed you to remove without losing all coolant. Jeep air has a solution new dryer and custom hose.
No. it is brass, in 3 parts and is attached to the dryer not the evaporator. It looks to be some sort of pressure regulator. I did find a utube that the owner removed the guts and used the fitting as just an adapter. It also may need to be there when using R12. Still looking.
Replacing all a/c parts on 1991 Cherokee. On the out side of the a/c drier , there is a fitting or device with springs and o rings inside it. Made of brass 3 sections. What is it called, can it be replaced, what does it do? I may be able to clean it but the inside springs are rusty and stiff...
The bolts that connect the flex plate to the torque converter look to be apx 3/8 of an inch. The hole in the Flexplate looks to be aro 1/2 inch? Might I have the wrong bolts? Shoulder bolt? 1991 ho cherokee aw4. Bolts fit torque converter. I understand these bolts tend to loosen. Info appreciated.
91 getting a complete rework I have built custom dash with auto meter gauges. as someone new to the jeep world does the oil sending unit send any signal to the computer? Or can I just replace stock sending unit with the auto meter unit wired directly to gauge not using stock wiring?
I have a 91 xj I thought the speedometer was mechanical. It is not. I was going to use all auto meter gauges in a custom built cluster. All I wanted from the stock cluster was the speedometer. It would have been easier if it were machanical. Can I isolate the speedo inputs and which wires do...
