Sorry for the confusion. I am using the complete engine and head from my 99 and putting into my 01. I was wondering how people are securing the coil pack. I have read people just setting the coil pack down on the plugs and it holds it pretty well, but I don't know about that.
However, I do...
So I'm getting ready to pull the engine from my 01. I have searched and searched and can't seem to find an article or anything.
How are people securing the coil pack from the 01 engine? Is there a write up somewhere? Pictures? Parts I need to buy or can make? I'm pretty mechanically inclined...
Ok figured it out. Blown IOD fuse under the hood. Now I have to figure why the fuse keeps blowing. Anyone have a wire diagram 2000 XJ?

Yeah that's what everyone says. But can't seem to tell me where. I have cleaned all the grounds under the dash and engine compartment.

Ok guys need some help. I have no instruments. I've read, I've watched videos, I have swapped the wiring harness from a working dash, I have put in a new cluster, I have cleaned the post, new grease. All the same results.
Any ideas?

Haven't really decided yet. Was thinking about the RC 6.5 with 4 point long arm or maybe the Clayton 6.5 with 3 point long arm.

Yeah, I've already read a few pages about it and watch a couple of videos. Seems interesting enough. But to be honest the engine swap won't take place until the 00 motor goes and I know I have everything right. And if I can't make it work I'll sell it for parts and go buy another XJ.
I'm more...
Not sure what head I have on either yet, haven't really gotten into them yet. I'm hoping I don't have the 0331 on the 00 as I have read they have cracking issues. But to be honest the engine work is lower on the totem pole.

Yeah already know about the coils and emissions stuff kind of why it was going to be a later addition. But if I remember right the block is the same and the ignition/coil components should drop into the 99 block.

I'm getting ready to start a new build and will be modify this XJ a bit more than then old one and will be transferring a lot of parts from the old to the new.
The situation:
A few months ago my 99 was wrecked (t-boned) in the passenger door. Other than that my 99 was perfect. So I came...
Didnt think the lift, tires, ect mattered but. It's on a 2.5 RC lift, Procomp 15x8 steel wheels, MAXXIS Big Horn 31x10.5x15 tires. Still running stock diffs, brakes, driveline.
Just got this rig, my first XJ

I pulled my stock bumper end caps off and of course found rust, so I cut and folded my rear fenders.
Any one know where I can find a bumper that will wrap around and under the fold. Like the ones at AJ's off road, but local.
