I'm not 100% positive. I had a 4wd shop put in my ected and I had the friction additive with the ected when I handed everything over. so I hope they did but I cant be totaly sure. I have the replacment diff oil and the replacment friction additive next to my front door, so I'll find out when I...
As of right now my ected will sometimes pop when its not engaged. I dont know what the problem is but I'm going to try changing the differential fluid and see what happens. It'll usually pop when I am doing a sharp right turn on pavment, and its especially profound when I'm more generous with...
"Jeep" My bad. you are very right, its deffenately not a car. I think that the coopers will do good. I've only heard good things about them. Its mainly the front end that I need to get all worked out. I still have to hook up the switch for my locker but I can do that in 30 minutes, I'll let you...
I Finally got my jeep all finished. I had the lift sitting here in my room for about a year until I actually lifted it. My setup is an RE 3.5", with BDS rear springs(the RE's were too high for my taste), ford 8.8 w/ Auburns Ected locker, rear disc conversion, 4:10 gears 31" Cooper discoverer...
I think it will be fine for offroading, because when you stick it in 4-Low, its like a little tank, and you should be able to pull around just fine. but it sounds like it might be a little bit stressful on the tranny during highway driving.
I'm getting ready to have my RE 3.5" lift all...
I will be putting one in my 8.8. I will have an RE 3.5", 31" tires, 4:10's. I will let you know how it goes.

if you're going to run 38" tires, and go hardcore rock crawling, then maybe the ected will not stand up for the job. That would probably be a task for an ARB. However, I think the ECTED would do ok under more reasonable conditions, such as smaller tires like 31s - 33s and more moderate abuse...
I'm sure there are poeple out there that have had good expieriences with Auburns Ected switchable locker. I feel pretty confident about them, but I would like to have some opinions from people that have actually used them.
Jeeper
I would suggest Auburns ected switchable locker. I believe its a locker and a limited slip in one. If you have the buck for an ARB, then you got the buck for an Ected. you can read up on them here.
Let me know if these links dont work...
I think I'll hold on to the springs just a little bit longer. I will deffenely let you know if I'm ready to get rid of them. I should get the jeep back some time either this weekend or early next week. they just need to put on the drive shaft, cross member, and shocks. The shock are still...
I really dont think so, I already have the BDS springs on there right now, but I will hold onto the RE's for a while. I'll check into it. I think they sent the right springs, its just that they were too much "spring" for us. Plus I have an 8.8" axle so that bumps it up another inch or two.
ok, I do have a new rear bumper from terrys fabrication and I will have a full size spare on the back with a jerry can. and I have a gps which gives me my speed but I will have to get the spedometer acurate at some point.
Bottom line is I'll just have to look at it and see. like I said I have...
ok, I am going to replace the shocks. I have a trail rated cross member/belly pan from tnt customs, which should drop the t-case an inch or two, and we have a sye kit for it.
I'm pretty sure that we were measuring from the stock height of the vehicle, not the old springs.
I had a dana 35 in...
