Re: What does a stock dana 44 look like?
From looking at the threads, this one (http://www.yuccaman.com/jeep/gear1.html#axle)
tells me that it is an Chrysler 8.25" Is this worth $150? It looks like it will bult right up. My axles are 3.07. I guess is this better than my dana 35?
Thanks for you...
I was at the local u-pull it and think I found an dana 44 in a 94 XJ. Is this possable? It is kinda round but octagon. Looks bigger around than the 35. Is their some way that I can ckeck the vin id? The last time I bought an compleat frount end it cost my $150. Is this worth looking into?

Well I got the head liner out, finished pulling the liner off. Took a brush to the head liner. Washed the liner, dryed the liner. Laided the liner to be glued down. And well it looked ok, but I sent a friend to get a gray sheet from the store. Two hours later and 4 stores later I called it off...
I made a 20 mile round trip today (ya it just got wormed up) but it ran about 10 degrees cooler. I just used 4 head bolt washers for spacers. I'd like to see the result of your test.

Crankshaft
At the heart of any stroker kit is the AMC 258 crankshaft (except for the JRE offset-ground 3.980" & 4.060" stroker cranks). This appeared in AMC 258 (Jeep 4.2) engines in various guises as shown below...
Where do I get a 258 crankshaft from? Is it in a 91 or newer 4.0L? The 4.0L stroker thread said something about 4.2L. Is this in a cherokee?
Am I wronge to think that I could put this in my 4.0L?

Insted of installing hood vents, I put 5/8'' spacer between the hood and hinge. This gave me about 5/8'' of air space between the hood and the engine compartment. Besides rain water would this hurt anything?

What year of Jeep do you get an 258 crankshaft out of? Is this a 91 or newer Jeep? I have an 88 cherokee 4.0L with 102,000 miles on it. I have an used 92 HO Head that eventuly will put on when I get a 99/02 intake manifold.
Re: Can I Put a 91 head/99 intake manifold on 88 Renix system
I'm going to the clean my head today. It came without 4 push rod and 8 lifters, when looking around the jeep I found all but 1 push rod and 1 set of lifters. But the jeep next to it had enough but they were from a 89.
Are they...

Re: Can I Put a 91 head/99 intake manifold on 88 Renix system
Thanks for the info. Yesterday I replaced the Splitfire Triple-Platinum Plugs and ACcel 8mm wires. Today I'm going to look for a head and manifold w/throttle body I have herd of using a 65mm mustang throttle body. Here I think that...
I bought a 1988 Cherokee with 96,743 miles on it for $250. It needed a complete frount end, I pulled one from u-pull it for $150. I got used matching tire and wheel, anyway I have $570 into it, to get it on the road. I'm planning on putting on a 91 to 98 head with a 99 to 02 manifold with...
