Recommended aftermarket temp gauge? I have an engine monitor that can show me the water temp, I would like to have the aftermarket gauge show me the temp from the sender on the head. Can I somehow hookup an aftermarket gauge and keep my current gauge?

Previously I would run at about 210 and also get excessively hot going up long steep grades. Is it possible there is still air in the system that will be worked out? I've only driven it maybe 7 or 8 times since the swap. Gets warm at idle pretty fast.

My engine monitor says WT° (water temp) is around 170-195 depending on the situation. Dash gauge stays just above 210 but goes to approx 220-230 if I push it on the highway. Does this sound like a case for a new water pump? Just converted my 89 Renix to an open system. New radiator, hoses, cap...

Just upgraded my 89 Laredo to an open cooling system. New radiator, cap (16psi), fan clutch, thermostat, hoses, and coolant bottle. Operating temp appears to be 215 according to the dash gauge. On the highway it creeps to about 220-225. My jeep always gets much warmer when going up long grades...

Did you have to drill a hole, then run the tap? Or did you just screw a 10-24 tap in?

Did you ever figure it out? one of my screw holes is stripped. I don't know how to tap the hole.

Not sure where to post. I've got a spinning rivnut/nutsert in the body of my XJ, with a bolt inside. Spinning the bolt results in a spinning rivnut. Can I just buzz off as much of the bolt as possible, so it is flush, and drill the rivnut out?

It sounds funny but I haven't been with my rig for a little while. I've been out of town. I assumed it took the older, bigger ATO/ATC fuses. But, just the other day some guy was saying it was a different fuse you can't get anymore. I have since solved this issue. Thanks.

I have an 89 Laredo, need to use a fuse tap on the drivers side fuse panel. Do I need an ATC fuse tap, ATM, etc? I assume ATC. I read somebody saying that's wrong as well, though. So, what tap do I need, or in other words, what kind of fuses does it take?

How did it turn out? Still going good? Got an 89 myself. Looking for a simple solution. So, you keep the switch on all the time, correct? And turn it off when you don't want the vehicle to be able to start.

The connector on top, with 3 wires coming out of it headed back to the engine compartment, is that a place I can splice into? There is green, black, and white.

Took the headlights out to see what was going on in the back. I don't know hwere to splice that new wire. I would pay somebody $150 to just do it for me at this point. They are h4 housings but the extra bulb confuses me and I'm sure that h4 harness wouldn't work now.
