    Wack's D44 Build 1996 xj

The last time I was at BD was early December, was cold AF. I sourced the case off eBay, found a "for parts" unit that had the fill plug boss snapped off. Bought it for cheap, and welded in a replacement aluminum bung w/ stainless plug for about $10. Got really lucky, as I have seen these go used...

    Wack's D44 Build 1996 xj

Got front axle squared away and centered. Rear brake lines fabricated and new Bilstein shocks installed. Waiting on a reamer for pitman arm and then it’s pretty much complete and ready for trial Run. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was also able to build a new front bumper, do some patching in the cargo space, install brown dog engine mounts, and swap in a 4:1 241 rocktrac case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Novak or Savvy NV241OR Shifter??

Crawl ratio seems much better. 4.10 Gears still a little too high, will be much better once I finish my 5.38 waggy 44s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Novak or Savvy NV241OR Shifter??

Well thanks for the insight! I stopped at JY and picked up a spare rod and then got a new pack of bushings. Stock shifter is working and cycling through all 4 selections. If this setup fails, I’ll be going Novak cable for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Novak or Savvy NV241OR Shifter??

Thanks for all the info! I talked to Boostwerks and they said they couldn't confirm if their kit would work or not, and relayed me to Novak, which led me to starting this post. I saw their setup and since the 241 already has the selector upward, it's really just the piece that bolts onto the...

    Novak or Savvy NV241OR Shifter??

I have had problems with my 231 in the past becoming disengaged. I know the plastic bushings are all worn. That combined with the rust just makes me want to get a fresh setup

    Novak or Savvy NV241OR Shifter??

On Novak’s Website, they are comparing their shifter to the “Competitor’s”. Is that Savvy’s cable on the left?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Novak or Savvy NV241OR Shifter??

I just finished swapping a Rubi case into my 96 XJ AX15, and there was no way to get the factory 231 Z linkage to work. The 231 lever swings from the bottom, and the 241 is from the top. I even tried fabricating a new adjustable linkage rod with some heims and threaded rod I had, but I can only...

    Wack's D44 Build 1996 xj

Made a little progress. Had to work on door hinges and new brake lines, but was able to get rear pinion angle set and truss welded on. Currently trying to source a 2wd Astro box and wagoneer pitman arm. The XJ is too much drop. Fabricated a track bar, bushed dom on one side, chromoly 7/8” heim...

No that’s a waggy d44 housing. Stock length 300m shafts. Just used the flat top knuckles from GM D44. Will be using FSJ D44 spindles outbound. They are the bigger spindle shaft, compared to the small lip design on the GM 6 bolt spindles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
